Fly Me to the Moon, the romantic comedy, has finally made it to OTT after its theatrical release in July this year. The film starring Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jim Rash, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson is available to rent on OTT platforms, including Prime Video and ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium), for Rs. 499. Bill Kirstein, Keenan Flynn, and Greg Berlanti adapted the script, while Rose Gilroy wrote the film.

The film, originally slated to star Johansson and Chris Evans under Jason Bateman's direction, made its debut in March 2022. Production started in October in Atlanta, Georgia, with Tatum replacing Bateman in July and Berlanti playing Evans's role.

Screenplay development

When composing her screenplay, Rose Gilroy consulted the book Marketing the Moon. According to Rose Gilroy, the book delves into the history of science fiction advertising and how films and literature in the genre played a crucial role in mainstreaming the genre in the United States. Seeing how they marketed the Apollo 11 mission was a never-ending source of fascination.

Sony Pictures Releasing made Fly Me to the Moon's world debut on July 8, 2024, and released it theatrically on July 12, 2024. Despite critical ambivalence, it has made $41 million worldwide.
