Five years of Luca – Here’s why you must watch this Tovino Thomas-starrer romantic drama

Luca, directed by Arun Bose, completed five years of its release. This romantic drama film tells the story of two people's peculiar love as it is told in through a diary narration. Critics and viewers had differing opinions about Luca's sentimentality regarding his fright of death and love.

The movie is classified as an investigative thriller with romantic overtones. It follows two couples—a scrap artist named Luca and his girlfriend Niharika, who lives in Kochi, and a police officer named Akbar and his wife Fathima—as they deal with the complexities of modern relationships.

Heartfelt plot

While looking into a case, Akbar comes across a diary. He reads about Luca, a scrap artist with mental health and rage management problems. He separates people in order to cope with his problems. One day, Niharika upsets Luca with her candid comments about his work. As Akbar reads the diary, he discovers that Niharika moves in with Luca and they start dating. Before their romance can take off, Luca receives a fourth stage cancer diagnosis. The diary's conclusion drastically alters Akbar as a person and is sorrowful in many ways.

Intriguing performances

This movie has a beautiful element to it because of the convincing performances that Tovino Thomas and Ahaana Krishnakumar gave. Nithin George's portrayal of Akbar is another standout performance. Intriguing components have also been added to Luca by other supporting actors.

Noteworthy cinematography and music

In Luca, the cinematography is a noteworthy aspect of the movie. Although it can lead us to believe that a film, such as Luca, is better than it actually is despite all of its flaws, especially a lacklustre script. The soundtracks and background music composed by Sooraj S Kurup also gives the story a haunting feel.
