Remember director Vijay's film Lakshmi which was released in 2018? The movie had only a few surprises to offer, the performance of Ditya Bhande, being one of them. The little girl's portrayal of the titular character was absolute fun to watch in the movie which otherwise is a let down.
It looks like Vijay has now come up with a series which looks like an extended version of the movie. Interestingly, Ditya Bhande plays one of the crucial characters in the project which has been titled Five Six Seven Eight. The trailer of the series was launched by Sai Pallavi the other day.
Its story revolves around a group of young children who hail from an underprivileged background taking on a bunch of privileged kids in a dance competition. What happens further forms the rest of the plot. AL Alagappan and Hitesh Thakkur have bankrolled the series which has screenplay by Mrudhula Sridharan along with Vijay.
Interestingly, Vijay has directed Five Six Seven Eight along with Prasanna JK and Mrudhula Sridharan. Anthony and Sam CS have handled cinematography and music direction respectively for the project which has Nagendra Prasad, Chinni Prakash and Vivek Jogdande essaying pivotal roles in it.
Five Six Seven Eight will drop on Zee5 on November 18. According to a release which the makers have issued, Vijay has said that the reason why he chose to do the series is because there aren't enough movies or shows based on dance in the south.
Vijay last directed Kangana-starrer Thalaivii which was released a year ago. He had recently announced a project for SonyLIV, titled The Madras Murder. It is based on a real incident which happened in the 1940s.
