Brace yourself for a new coming-of-age comedy with The Fallout star, Maddie Ziegler as a troubled teenage girl supported by her doting mother Emily Hampshire. Loosely based on the Grace and Frankie director Molly McGlynn’s teenage years – Fitting In is a heartwarming self-acceptance journey of a high-school girl who embarks on a soul-searching journey after a unique syndrome. Blue Fox Entertainment dropped the official trailer on Friday with a stellar cast and intriguing plot.

Fitting In trailer grapples with acceptance and growth

In the nearly 2-minute trailer, Maddie Ziegler plays the role of a 16-year-old teenage girl Lindy, who appears to be overwhelmed while pondering thoughts of losing her virginity to teenage crush Adam, played by Woon-A-Tai. It is revealed that she hasn’t got her period yet and her worried mother asks if she needed a doctor’s visit.

Lindy’s life takes a spiral turn when she visits a gynecologist for birth control only to discover that she is suffering from MRKH syndrome, which is a type of rare reproductive vagina condition with smaller or no uterus. The unexpected medical discovery changes the present dynamics of Lindy and she finds strength in a LGBTQI support group as she grapples with the new reality.

This semi-autobiographical features sexuality and womanhood through the lens of self-discovery and acceptance after losing and regaining control of one’s life.
