Chandrajit Belliappa, a member of actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s Seven Odds writers, is set to make his directorial debut with Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, a romantic drama featuring Vihan and Ankita Amar in the lead. The film will be the latest presentation from Rakshit’s Paramvah Studios, which began the year with Abhijit Mahesh’s Bachelor Party. A release date is yet to be announced, but considering that they’ve just dropped the first single, it should not be far off.

On the occasion of World Music Day, Chandrajit has chosen to present a romantic number featuring his lead pair called Oh Anahita, with Vihan as Siddharth, wooing Ankita’s Anahita. Composed by Gagan Baderiya and sung by Kapil Kapilan, Oh Anahita, according to the filmmaker is inspired by Bollywood of the 90s. Ankita looks stunningly radiant in the song, and the pair have decent chemistry too.

By the looks of it, based on the visuals in Oh Anahita, Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is a love story between a couple from differing socio-economic backgrounds. Chandrajit has revealed very little about his film so far, saying only that Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is an exploration of love, separation, longing and more, a yesteryear romance set in modern times. The film also sees the return of Gitanjali and Vandanam actress Girija Shettar to cinema after more than three decades.

Meanwhile, during the promotions of his film Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, Rakshit had spoken about his plan in nurturing promising talent through his banner. The idea, he had said, was to allow them to make their first films from their heart, in the way they want to explore it, and eventually be able to tell such stories in a more commercially-viable format. Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, in that sense, is more mainstream than some of Rakshit’s other upcoming productions, which are doing the film festival rounds.
