First single from Dhanush-starrer Maaran, Polladha Ulagam, to be unveiled on this date

Though the first look of Karthick Naren's Maaran was revealed a few months ago, no other update from the project was let out later. Fans of Dhanush have been eagerly awaiting an update about the project for a while especially after the news of the film going the OTT way started doing the rounds.

Though it's more or less confirmed that the action thriller will have a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar, an official update is awaited on the same. There are speculation that the movie is likely to start streaming on the platform from February.

The team has now come up with an update on its single. Its first single, Polladha Ulagam, will be unveiled on January 26. The social media handle of Sathya Jyothi Films, which is bankrolling the project, tweeted, "Get ready for the first single video song #PolladhaUlagam from #Maaran releasing on 26th January via @LahariMusic (sic)."

The lyric video, which has music by GV Prakash, will feature voice by Dhanush, lyrics by Vivek and rap by Arivu. A poster of Dhanush posing stylishly during his dance moves was also released along with the announcement. Leading choreographer Jani is said to have composed dance moves for the song.  

Malavika Mohanan plays the female lead in the movie which has Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat and Mahendran among others essaying important roles. The team had released a few stills and a motion poster earlier this month.

Vivekanand Santhosham has handled cinematography for the film which has editing by Prasanna GK. Vivek, Sharfu and Suhas have written the screenplay of Maaran which has Dhanush playing a journalist for the first time. Samuthirakani, who plays the antagonist in the film, will be seen in the role of a political leader.
