A few months ago, it was announced that actor Silambarasan would be teaming up with director Desingh Periyasamy for a film tentatively titled STR48. The makers took to social media on Friday to share the first glimpse of the film by sharing the first look poster for the film which is filled with blood and rage. The project has yet to be given a name.

The film will be backed by veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan under his home banner, Raaj Kamal Films International. The release date of the film has yet to be announced by the makers.

Everything we know about STR48

The first look poster has hues of red, as we see two side-profile faces of Silambarasan looking at each other. While both of them sport a long mane and blood marks. The poster gives a hint that the film will be set against a mystical backdrop. The makers have not yet announced the title. From the looks of the poster, the film is expected to have high-octane action sequences.

Team behind STR48

The film is directed by Desingh Periyasamu, who made his debut with the Tamil romantic comedy caper film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020) in 2020. The film featured actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Rakshan, and Niranjani Agathiyan. Along with this film being his directorial debut, it was also the debut of Rakshan and Niranjani Agathiyan.

It is to be noted that STR48 will mark the director’s first collaboration with Silambarasan. R Mahendran and Kamal Haasan are backing the STR48 under the banner Raaj Kamal Film International. However, the makers remain guarded about the film’s plot. They are also yet to announce the cast and technical crew members.

Meanwhile, Silambarasan was last seen in the Tamil film Pathu Thala, directed by Obeli Krishna. He also appeared in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film was conceived as a duology, with the second part yet to be released. Silambarasan was also supposed to act in Corona Kumar, directed by Gokul. But the film was dropped without any further announcements.
