First look of Rukmini Vasanth as Baana Daariyalli’s beach babe Leela is here

In early March, when Rukmini Vasanth shared an image of her on a paddle board and a video of her trying her best to master a balance board, not much was read into it. It just seemed that the actress was having fun during a holiday to an organic farm, where she went swimming in a river, among other stuff.

Not much later came news that Rukmini would be a part of director Preetham Gubbi’s next with Golden Star Ganesh, Baana Dariyalli. Her character, Leela, was described as someone who is into water sports and shortly after one of Ganesh’s looks from the film was revealed in which he was holding a surf board. Today, the team released Rukmini’s look from the film and she seems to be quite the beach babe in it. Perhaps, Rukmini’s getaway was more of a vacation for work, we think.

The film, which also has Reeshma Nanaiah on board, as a wildlife photographer, has been described as not a love story, but a story about love. Baana Daariyalli is based on a story by reputed cinematographer Preetha Jayaraman, for which Preetham wrote the screenplay. The film has music by V Harikrishna, and will be shot across locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi and Africa. Preetham had earlier said that he was looking at a year-end release for Baana Daariyalli.

It was reported that the team would begin with the Karnataka portions in May, as Ganesh was expected to be promoting his next, Gaalipata 2, but now that the Yogaraj Bhat directorial has been pushed ahead to August, Preetham’s scheduled may change around. Apart from Gaalipata 2, Ganesh is also looking forward to the release of Tribble Riding. Rukmini, meanwhile, is on a schedule break from Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, in which she is paired with Rakshit Shetty. The actor has to pile on 15 kilos for his look in the next schedule and has managed about 10 so far. Rukmini should be able to rejoin the Hemanth M Rao’s directorial from the set of Baana Daariyalli.
