The title poster of Bramayugam, the upcoming horror film directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Mammootty, generated a lot of excitement among fans. Now, it has been announced that the first look of the movie will be revealed on Mammootty's birthday: September 7.
While the actor has previously played characters in horror films like Aparichithan and Adharvam, in Bramayugam he will reportedly portray the role of a villainous sorcerer who lives with snakes. It is not common for horror movies to be produced in Malayalam cinema, but the success of the genre's previous entry, Romancham, suggests that there is a demand for it among audiences.
Bramayugam's cast and crew
Arjun Ashokan plays a pivotal character in Bramayugam, and reports suggest that he is the protagonist. The film also stars actor-director Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in prominent roles. TD Ramakrishnan, the novelist who wrote the dialogues of Shane Nigam's Olu, has worked on the script of Bramayugam. Y NOT Studios bankroll Bramayugam through their new production venture named 'Night Shift Studios', dedicated to the production of horror movies. Bramayugam marks the inaugural production of Night Shift Studios. According to the producers, they are thrilled to work with the legendary actor Mammootty and are sure of Bramayugam becoming a spectacular cinematic experience. The film is expected to release in early 2024.
Mammootty's upcoming releases
The cop drama Kannur Squad is the upcoming release of Mammootty in theatres. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 28. Helmed by Roby Varghese Raj, the trailer for the film will be released on Mammootty's birthday (September 7).
The actor has finished shooting the game thriller Bazooka, which is directed by Deeno Deenis. The film, which also stars director Gautham Vasudev Menon, is regarded as a never-before-attempted genre in Malayalam.
