Salman Khan’s tensions have climbed up the ladder today! Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired shots outside the 58-year-old superstar's residence in Mumbai's Bandra early Sunday morning. Mumbai Police have identified and charged the assailants with attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act. Investigation in the case is underway. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on behalf of the State Government, has commented on the developments.

Maharashtra govt promises to take ‘stringent action’ on Salman Khan security breach case

Despite being provided with Y+ category security by the Mumbai police, Salman Khan’s security was at risk today. Speaking on the development with the media persons today, Eknath Shinde assured that ‘stringent action’ would be taken against the culprits in the matter.

“This is an unfortunate incident. Police are investigating it. The accused will be caught and stringent action will be taken against them. Those who take the law into their own hands won't be spared. Mumbai Police Commissioner has been informed to assess the security of Salman Khan and his entire family and increase the security. I have also spoken with Salman Khan too. I have told him that the Government is with him, and he need not worry,” Shinde informed the media reporters.

Politician Raj Thackeray, actor Arbaaz Khan and his wife Sshura Khan, Salman’s sister Arpita Khan gave a quick visit to Salman’s residence following the troublesome incident. Salman Khan is yet to issue an official statement regarding the said incident.

About an hour ago, Anmol Bishnoi — the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi — claimed responsibility for firing gunshots outside actor Salman Khan's Mumbai home.

The Bishnoi gang, headed by Lawrence Bishnoi, has a track record of issuing threats to Salman Khan, which stems from past grievances, notably the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching incident. The blackbuck holds religious significance and is revered in certain regions of Rajasthan.

In 2023, Salman Khan publicly spoke about the death threats he has been receiving and shared how he has been coping with them. At India TV's show 'Aap ki Adalat', Salman Khan said: "Security is better than insecurity. Yes, security is there. Now it is not possible to ride a bicycle on the road and go alone anywhere. And my poor fans. There is a serious threat that's why there is security."
