Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited film OG is set to hit screens worldwide on September 27, bringing relief to eager fans awaiting updates on the production.
Directed and written by Sujeeth, OG, also known as "They Call Him OG," marks Pawan Kalyan's return to full-fledged role after his 2022 film Bheemla Nayak. His last appearance was an extended cameo in Bro released in 2023.
They Call Him OG for a reason!
Earlier, a teaser was released giving a glimpse into the dark and gritty crime drama unfolding against the backdrop of Mumbai. The movie promises a memorable action drama for the fans of Pawan. In the film, Pawan goes by the street name OG, short for the 'original gangster', a man who seems to have achieved the status of legend in the Mumbai underworld.
The teaser claims that about 17 years ago OG had gone on a killing spree leaving a trail of destruction across the streets of Mumbai before he disappeared without a trace. The incident has achieved near-mythical status in the Mumbai underworld, with a voice declaring, "No storm can wash away the blood strains of men he slaughtered." As the OG returns to Mumbai, the revelation is expected to send shivers down the spines of fellow gangsters.

Pawan plays as a katana-wielding gangster and the king of the shadow government in OG. A teaser highlight includes his character storming a police station and stabbing a rival before high-ranking police officers.
Produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment, the same producer behind the Oscar-winning RRR, OG features Emraan Hashmi and Priyanka Arul Mohan in lead roles.
In an interview with OTTplay, Pawan's co-star Sriya Reddy teased, "It's an emotional rollercoaster. It's brilliant and out of the world."
The production of OG was delayed reportedly due to Pawan's political commitments. This was also said to be the reason behind the delays in his other highly-awaited movies Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
