The latest Telugu blockbuster, HanuMan , is all set to make its streaming debut next week. The movie, starring Teja Sajja and Amritha Aiyer in the lead roles, will start streaming on ZEE5 on March 8.

HanuMan had an impressive extended run at the box office, lasting longer than normal before its streaming release. At a time when many new movies rarely manage to stay in cinemas for more than four weeks, HanuMan defied the trend by being available on more than 150 screens for over 50 days.
"These have been 50 wonderful days in my life, and I don't know where to start or whom to thank first. One thing I can sincerely say is that the love of the audience towards good cinema transcends every adversity," said director Prasanth Varma recently while expressing his gratitude to the audience.
It has become a norm for new South Indian movies to become available for streaming after about four weeks of theatrical runs. However, the producers of HanuMan, recognizing the film's box office potential , opted for a later OTT release.
HanuMan broke box office records
HanuMan was globally released on January 12 to capitalize on the Sankranti holiday. The film garnered glowing reviews from paid premieres, paving the way for a grand opening worldwide. Despite initial hurdles at the box office, struggling to find theatres in the Telugu states due to other big releases, HanuMan managed to remain the most preferred movie at the box office in the following weeks.
According to reports, HanuMan has grossed more than Rs 300 crore from its worldwide theatrical collection so far. This is a significant feat considering the movie cost less than Rs 40 crore for its producers.
HanuMan draws inspiration from Indian mythical stories, narrating the tale of a village idiot who comes into possession of a gemstone that grants him the powers of Lord Hanuman.
Touted as the first entry into the superhero universe created by Prasanth Varma, HanuMan's sequel, titled Jai Hanuman, is expected to hit the screens next year.
HanuMan will also be available for streaming on OTTPlay Premium .
