Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed wrap shoot for untitled ZEE5 series; see post

Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, who are remembered for their show Zindagi Gulzar Hai, have concluded the shooting for an untitled series set at Zindagi, a ZEE5 vertical that has Pakistani shows. The series marks their on-screen reunion after a gap of eight years. 

According to Variety, the series is a mix of “magical realism and supernatural fantasy with a family reunion.” It is directed by Asim Abbasi, who has previously helmed the acclaimed show Churails and drama film Cake.

Khan will be seen as a single father who is trying to parent his child in a way his own father never did. Meanwhile, Saeed plays a character that “harbours otherworldly secrets” and is someone who heals those around her.

The untitled series was shot in the Pakistani city of Karachi and the scenic Hunza valley.

“This is a very personal project for me. The shoot which spanned over five months has been the most challenging experience of my life but also the most rewarding,” said Abbasi.

He further said that the cast has given their career-best performances here. He shared an anecdote from the shooting where Khan burned the rubber of a car’s tyre while making a U-turn on a single lane road. He described this as “the perfect shot.”

Khan has previously been a part of Bollywood films like Khoobsurat with Sonam Kapoor, Shakun Batra’s family film Kapoor & Sons and Karan Johar’s relationship drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Meanwhile, Saeed’s recent role was in the Zindagi anthology Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam.

Besides, this untitled series, Zindagi has a host of new content releasing soon including Mrs & Mr Shameem, which stars Saba Qamar, of Hindi Medium fame and Nauman Ija. The show will release on ZEE5 on March 11.
