When asked if he keeps in touch with RK, Khan replied, "On and off." He has maintained contact with the Kapoor family and has enjoyed a cordial connection with them thanks to their occasional phone conversations and chats. Even with Karan Johar and Shakun Batra, there is still a tremendous deal of respect and love. Aside from casual acquaintances, Khan maintains communication with a few producers he has worked with and occasionally arranges to meet up with them. Thus, they converse occasionally. There is no resentment or animosity between them; they remain in regular contact and are still extremely amicable.

Fawad co-starred with Ranbir in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, playing Anushka's husband.
