Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan team up for the first Pakistan-themed Netflix original

Do you remember Fawad Khan from ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and Mahira Khan from ‘Raees’? Both these popular actors are coming together for a series soon, which will be aired only on Netflix.

News portal Variety confirmed the development just a while ago and added that the series will be an official adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s bestselling 2013 Urdu-language novel of the same name. The series' storyline encircles the life of Sikandar, a law student from an eminent university who experiences a life-changing incident that makes him keep others at bay, and Liza, a talented artist who is bursting with life but has had a troubled past. They meet in Italy.

Besides Fawad and Mahira, the series will feature actress Sanam Saeed and actor Ahad Raza Mir in crucial roles. The supporting cast also includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hania Aamir, Khushaal Khan, Nadia Jamil, Omair Rana, and Samina Ahmed.

Dubai-based Momina Duraid Films FZ – LLC is producing the series, with Momina Duraid serving as showrunner. The show is being shot in Italy, the U.K., and Pakistan. The streaming date has not been revealed yet.

Mahira Khan, a Pakistani actress, made her mark in Bollywood with her debut film "Raees" opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 2017. Known for her effortless acting skills and mesmerizing beauty, Mahira received critical acclaim for her performance in the film. Despite facing political tensions between India and Pakistan, she managed to create a strong fan base in India.
