Fast X Part 2: Tyrese Gibson offers a disappointing update; says, ‘haven't read a script yet’

While we discuss the resurrection of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the foundational work of the DCU that James Gunn is busy shaping, other franchises are also being developed and advanced. One of these is the Fast & Furious franchise, which is in an exciting phase as it moves toward the end of the main storyline, as confirmed by Vin Diesel a long time ago. With the release of Fast X last year, the actor gave fans what they wanted, and they were hungry for more. They couldn’t wait for the next installment. Soon we were told that they had already begun work on Fast X Part 2. While we thought the wait would not be long, we were proven wrong, and we haven't heard a single thing about the progress on the film. It turns out the latest update offers some very disappointing news.

Fast X Part 2 Update

Everyone thought that the wait between Fast X and Fast X Part 2 would not be as long as with the other films, considering the popular misconception that they were being made concurrently. But little did we know that we would end up waiting for over a year to even see the movie go on floors, let alone be released on the big screen. According to the latest update from Tyrese Gibson, the movie doesn't even have a script in place yet. Yes, you read that right. Read on to know everything you should about this.

If you remember, last year, when the conversation around Fast X Part 2 began, the Hollywood strikes kicked off, and the industry came to a standstill for months before the members were back to work and Hollywood was on track. The sequel to Fast X was the movie that had to suffer the most, considering it also came to a standstill. Tyrese Gibson has now confirmed that he hasn't even read the script for the movie.

"I haven't read a script yet. I've talked to the director, I'm constantly in touch with Vin Diesel, and they do really well at keeping this franchise afloat. The moment I get the call, I'm going to show up and try to do my job and hope that they're still happy with what I bring to the table," Gibson shared as per Comicbook.

Last year, Vin Diesel had the nicest things to say about working with Tyrese Gibson and reuniting with the actor. He had written in a post, "If you told me back in 2010, when we first worked together... that in 2023 we would be standing on the shores of Turks and Caicos discussing all of the countries we are about to tour for the release of the Finale.
