Farrey, one of the sleeper hits of 2023, has finally hit OTT after a long wait. The film is currently streaming on ZEE5 and marks the acting debut of Alizeh Agnihotri. Soumendra Padhi, best known for Netflix's Jamtara, directs the thriller. During its theatrical release, Farrey had a runtime of 114 minutes, that is, one hour and 54 minutes. On ZEE5, however, the runtime appears to be one hour and 49 minutes. Well, there are no deleted scenes added to the streaming version, which is the new norm for theatrical films having OTT releases.
Farrey is a story of desire and deception that chronicles the path of Niyati (Alizeh), an orphaned 10th board exam topper from Delhi. With a scholarship, she is able to win a coveted position at a prominent metropolitan school. Her wealthy classmates entice Niyati into participating in a cheating racket, turning the film in an exciting new direction. She finds herself caught in a web of manipulation and greed as the risks and rewards continue to rise, and she is putting herself in danger of losing much more than she stands to earn. Niyati and her classmates may either emerge victorious or collapse under the pressure of their secrets.
Farrey gives a new and interesting spin to the genre of high school drama. It depicts the story of these courageous young people as they put everything on the line for a chance at glory.
