Nelson Venkatesan's Farhana made the right noise before its release, thanks to its intriguing promo videos. The movie bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures stars Aishwarya Rajesh in the titular role while Jithan Ramesh, Aishwarya Dutta, and Anumol among others played notable characters.

Sankar Dass and Ranjith Ravindran have written the screenplay along with the director. The former joined hands with Manushyaputhiran to pen dialogues for the movie which has cinematography by Gokul Benoy, editing by VJ Sabu Joseph, and music by Justin Prabhakaran.

The movie revolves around a woman hailing from a conservative family taking up a job at a call centre. She befriends a stranger over a phone call and that changes her life in unexpected ways. However, little did she know that her joy would be short-lived. She becomes desperate to detach herself from the stranger after realizing his toxic behaviour.

Torn between his blackmails and her concerned family members, she goes through a gamut of emotions. How she manages to deal with the situation forms the rest of the story. The thriller flick courted controversy after a religious outfit expressed concern about the portrayal of certain characters. The makers ensured that no sentiment was hurt during the making of the film.

Farhana is now gearing up for its digital premiere. The movie will drop on July 7 on SonyLIV. There was news of the film releasing on the platform earlier this month, but an official announcement has been made only now.

The flawless performance from Aishwarya and Ramesh among others, the intriguing screenplay, a riveting cameo, and effective technical aspects are highlights of the movie which garnered a decent response from critics upon its theatrical release in May.
