Don 3, to be helmed by Farhan Akhtar, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. There were rumblings after the announcement that the film was postponed and wouldn't start as planned. The filmmaker, however, shot down these rumours in a recent interview with India Today.
Don 3 is still on schedule, according to Akhtar. He said that he is not evading any queries on the film when asked if he was trying to dodge them. Further sharing: he revealed that the shoot for Don 3 will begin this year, while 120 Bahadur also hits the big screen in 2025.
Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh, is being directed by Farhan Akhtar and the primary female lead will be played by Kiara Advani.
When the online portal asked Akhtar about his other directorial, Jee Le Zaraa, which he announced in 2021, the filmmaker responded by saying that many dates have to be coordinated. The much-anticipated film stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Akhtar also said that they can talk about that at a later time.
Meanwhile, on February 28, he will release his upcoming film as a producer, Superboys of Malegaon, in theatres. Under the aegis of Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, the film—written by Varun Grover and directed by Reema Kagti—has the support of superstar producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Kagti herself. Cast members include Vineet Kumar Singh, Anuj Singh Duhan, Shashank Arora, and Adarsh Gourav.
On the other hand, Akhtar is also gearing up for the release of his Netflix series, Dabba Cartel, which is releasing on the same day. The star-studded series features Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.
