Family Star box office collection day 1 - Vijay Deverakonda's Family Star was in the news from the time its trailer was released. Directed by Parasuram Petla, Family Star hit the screens on April 5, 2024, with a decent buzz. But as word of mouth was dull from the US premiere, and the response was negative from the shows in Telugu states, the day-one collection of the film in Telugu states is shockingly low.

As per the latest update, Family Star has made only a mere Rs 5.2 crore gross on day one in Telugu states, which is shockingly low. None of Vijay Deverakonda's films in the last three years made such low collections. The advance bookings for the film were quite dull but the film's first show was sold out in many areas in the state of Telangana.

Despite that, the film's dull narrative has disappointed many. One good thing in all this is that the occupancy picked up a bit during the night shows in the city of Hyderabad. This is because of the weekend factor and the absence of any other release in Telugu.
Already, the exams are over in Telugu states, and the students have pretty much nothing else to do but watch a film on the weekend. In the city of Hyderabad, which has the maximum following for Vijay Deverakonda, Family Star made only Rs 2.5 crore gross on day one, which is also quite low.

In the US, the film has grossed $450k to date, which is decent. On the other hand, Dil Raju says that as the weekend is on, the occupancy will be good from the evening shows. He has made special plans and will join Vijay and Mrunal Thakur for surprise visits to the theatres in Hyderabad and other areas to attract the audience.
The director, Parasuram, is being trolled big time for the way he has narrated the romantic drama in such a dull manner. Family Star has a routine story, and despite having popular stars, it has taken a very dull start at the box office. We need to see how the film fares in the days to come.
