Fahadh Faasil, who has been busy working in projects in the other South industries of late, will return to his home turf Malayalam with two back-to-back projects with filmmakers who had earlier churned out superhits with Nivin Pauly.
While Fahadh’s project with Premam director Alphonse Puthren titled Paattu was announced a few years ago but was delayed due to the pandemic, the actor has now also signed up for Althaf Salim’s next.
Althaf, who had made his debut with Nivin Pauly’s Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela in 2017 and had played a cameo in Premam, is set to begin work on his sophomore venture in July. Fahadh, by then, is expected to complete work on his Tamil film with Mari Selvaraj and also the Alphonse Puthren directorial, which is set to go on floors in April.
Ashiq Usman, who will be producing Althaf’s film, had told Can Channel that the movie will also have two heroines and the casting of the movie is currently on. Althaf’s Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela had introduced Aishwarya Lekshmi to the film industry.
Meanwhile, Fahadh, who had completed shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram last week, also announced that he is part of Karnan and Pariyerum Perumal director Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan, which also has Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh and Vadivelu. This would mark his fourth Tamil film after Super Deluxe and Velaikkaran.
In Malayalam, Fahadh is gearing up for the release of Malayankunju, a survival thriller about a man who gets trapped underneath a mudslide. The film, directed by Sajimon Prabhakar, also has Rajisha Vijayan and Indrans as part of the cast. The movie is produced by Fahadh’s father and director Fazil, and is scripted by Mahesh Narayanan.
The actor will also complete shooting for Mahesh’s segment in the Netflix anthology, which is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories.
