Despite the 2020 Malayalam movie Trance not working at the box office, the Fahadh Faasil-starrer helmed by Anwar Rasheed is still widely regarded as one of the best works of the actor and the director. The duo is now reportedly set to team up again for another movie.

OTTplay has exclusively learnt that both Fahadh and Anwar, who have been in discussions for several projects since Trance, has now zeroed in on a movie to collaborate. However, their collaboration will be in the capacities of actor and producer, with another young filmmaker set to helm the film.

While there’s no official confirmation regarding the project, we hear that the movie will be directed by Jithu Madhavan, who has helmed the upcoming horror-comedy Romancham that has Soubin Shahir and Arjun Ashokan as part of the cast. Anwar will be producing the upcoming Fahadh-starrer, which is also reportedly set in Bengaluru like Romancham.

Apart from Trance, Anwar’s previous productions include Soubin’s Parava, Nivin Pauly’s Premam and Bangalore Days, which also had Fahadh along with Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim and Nivin. Meanwhile, Fahadh has a slew of projects lined up this year.

The actor will be resuming the shoot of Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa’s sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, in which he will be reprising his role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS. He has also signed Hanuman Gear and Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira in Malayalam. The actor completed the shoot of Akhil Sathyan’s Pachuvum Athbhuthavilakum and Pawan Kumar's Dhoomam, which is produced by Hombale Films.

In a recent interview ahead of the release of Thankam, which Fahadh had co-produced with Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Pothan, the actor also hinted that he could be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film with Vijay that is tentatively titled Thalapathy 67. The actor’s previous release was Malayankunju, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
