Following his time on Netflix with Amar Singh Chamkila, which starred Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, Imtiaz Ali is making a triumphant comeback to the big screen. As per the latest reports, the filmmaker's upcoming film will star Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri.
Plot details and production timeline
Peeping Moon reported that, although the specifics of the film's plot are unknown at this time, rumors have it that it follows Imtiaz's signature style of offbeat love stories. The filmmaker plans to begin filming in the first quarter of 2025 after finishing the script. His home banner, Window Seat Films, will also produce this film.

Reports say that Fahadh Faasil is thrilled to launch his career in Hindi cinema alongside Imtiaz Ali, one of his favorite Bollywood filmmakers. This project's long-awaited contracts were recently signed. The actor brings a fresh and intriguing element to their partnership by teaming up with Triptii. A source close to the development indicated that Imtiaz is known for pushing boundaries in his love stories, and this one is going to be no exception.
Triptii Dimri's reunion with Imtiaz Ali
Although this is Fahadh's debut in Hindi cinema, it will also be a homecoming of sorts for Triptii Dimri. Imtiaz's brother Sajid Ali directed Laila Majnu (2018), marking her full-fledged first feature film. Imtiaz also served as co-writer and presenter.
After performing on his authored material, Imtiaz himself will direct Triptii, further enhancing her status as a highly sought-after performer in Bollywood. The actor, who has risen to the top of every filmmaker's list following Animal's massive success, will film Vishal Bhardwaj's gangster thriller starring Shahid Kapoor before joining Imtiaz for his feature. April 2025 will mark the start of production on her comedy-drama starring Madhuri Dixit and Suresh Triveni.
On the other hand, Fahadh has starred in critically acclaimed films such as Maalik, Vikram, Aavesham, and Vettaiyan. Pushpa 2: The Rule, the highly anticipated film starring Allu Arjun, also features Fahadh, reprising his beloved role as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and facing off against Pushpa Raj. With astronomically high box office projections, the film is set to hit theatres this Thursday, December 5, 2024.
