Actors and Malayalis’ favourite couple, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim, recreated a popular scene from Girish AD’s latest directorial, Premalu. The clip, which also wishes the audience a happy Valentine's Day, is now being shared by the cast and crew of the romantic comedy on various social media platforms.

Director Dileesh Pothan, writer Syam Pushkaran, and actor Fahadh Faasil’s entertainment company Bhavana Studio have bankrolled Premalu, which stars young actors Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles. In the video, Bhavana Studio also congratulates the team behind Premalu on this success.

The romantic comedy drama, which hit the big screen on February 9, is receiving resounding positive reviews from across the state. The supporting cast of Premalu includes Shyam Mohan, Sangeeth Prathap, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Althaf Salim. Additionally, Mathew Thomas has a brief cameo in this movie.

Bhavana Studio wanted a project with Nazriya, Basil Joseph: Girish AD

Director Girish AD said in an interview with The Cue that he was initially approached by Bhavana Studios with the idea of directing Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph. But in response, he said he would have to change Premalu's entire script because that would have involved 30-year-olds, so he would prefer to move forward with this.

During the press conference promoting Premalu, actor and producer Dileesh stated that Girish AD, the film's director, was the sole reason he chose to produce the movie, considering the latter's prior productions, which have garnered positive reviews from audiences for their compelling narratives.

Rave response for Premalu

According to recent reports, in just the first four days of its theatrical release, the romantic comedy has already made a worldwide gross of Rs. 7.5 crore. It is obvious that the word-of-mouth promotion contributed to the film's outstanding box office performance, despite releasing along with Tovino Thomas’s Anweshippin Kandethum. In response to the strongly favourable feedback from the audience, the producers decided to add more shows to theatres starting February 10.
