The comic caper F3:Fun and Frustration, better known as F3, has opened to a terrific response post its theatrical release today. The Anil Ravipudi-directorial retained a significant chunk of the prequel F2's cast comprising Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Mehreen Pirzada, Tamannaah, Pradeep, Y Vijaya, Annapurnamma, Rajendra Prasad, Pragathi Suresh, to name a few. The film was produced by Shirish and presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
The post-theatrical streaming rights of F3 have been bagged by SonyLIV. As per sources, the film will have at least a 6-7 week window between the theatrical release and the OTT premiere. It would be safe to assume that F3's OTT release would be in the early half of July. Given that the film has started on a strong note and there's no significant threat in the coming weeks, the makers would be keen to make the most of its theatrical run.
While F2 was about two women, sisters, teaching a lesson to their irresponsible partners, here the story revolves around their monetary greed and how it lands them in trouble. The plot is about Varun, a youngster, in the company of his uncle, takes up lowly, odd jobs for a living and Venky, a frustrated middle-aged man tired of shouldering family responsibilities. They hatch a plot to honeytrap a young rich woman who claims to be the heiress of a large empire and go overboard in their bid to impress her. However, destiny has other plans in store for them.
Written and directed by Anil Ravipudi, F3 also stars Sunil, Ali, Murali Sharma, Sonal Chauhan, Vennela Kishore in prominent roles. Cinematographed by Sai Sriram and edited by Tammiraju, the film had music by Devi Sri Prasad. The satellite rights of F3 have been bagged by the ZEE group. The makers have announced that the third instalment in the F2 franchise, titled F4, is in the works.
