Ranbir Kapoor has an enviable line-up of upcoming films. Apart from Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, which recently wrapped its shoot after five years, Ranbir also has Karan Malhotra's directorial Shamshera, Luv Ranjan's next and Kabir Singh helmer Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next directorial titled Animal.

While little is known about the crime drama titled Animal there have been speculations saying that Ranbir will be seen in an intense role, much like Shahid Kapoor's in Kabir Singh. Now, shedding some light on what to expect from Animal, its producer recently told TOI in an interview that audience will see a very different avatar od Ranbir in the film.

The producer revealed that Animal is not some kind of a 'creature film'. The film's title refers to a the personality traits in a person. Kumar was quoted as saying by the publication, "We can expect to see a violent Ranbir Kapoor. I can't tell you more about the film. But it has Anil Kapoor, too and we are starting the film in April."

He added that they are also about to complete Ranbir's film with Luv Ranjan and that it is likely to get over by May or June.

For those who are uninitiated, Animal was initially announced with Parineeti Chopra as its leading lady. But the actress has backed out of the project. A Pinkvilla report confirmed that Rashmika Mandanna has come on board in place of Parineeti for Animal. The film is reported to be set against the backdrop of gun mafia in the country and Ranbir's character belongs to a gangster family, headed by his father played by Anil Kapoor. While not much is known about Bobby Deol's character in the film, Rashmika will be seen as the leading lady.
