Exit - The Vishak Nair-starrer survival thriller gets A certificate; deets here

The makers of the Malayalam upcoming film Exit have confirmed that it has been given an A certificate by the censor board. The film, which features Vishak Nair in the lead role, is helmed by debutant Shaheen Mohammed. Due to censorship concerns, the movie, which was originally scheduled for release in February, was postponed.

In an interview with OTTplay, Shaheen Mohammed gave the reason behind the decision to delay the film's theatrical release. He claimed that the producers' efforts to address censorship concerns, stemming from extremely violent scenes, were the reason for the delay.

"Following the preview, we were informed that the film contains extremely violent scenes and that changes must be made before its theatrical release," he stated. Shaheen went on to say that although the movie's plot required violence for it to be credible, he did not deliberately create a violent film. The filmmaker added that he wanted to portray the story as authentically as possible on screen, drawing inspiration from some true tales he had heard as a young child.

According to sources, the survival thriller is now slated to release in theatres in the second week of March.

All about Exit

Four young men who get stuck in a bungalow for the night in a village in the 1990s are the central focus of Exit's story. A man with cannibalistic tendencies, who has been shackled in an abandoned bungalow for over 25 years for eerie reasons, is portrayed in the movie by Anandham-fame Vishak Nair.

Tamil actor Sree Raam, Reneesha Rahiman, and Vaisakh Vijayan are also among the supporting cast of this survival thriller. The director and Anish Janaradhanan together wrote the script for Exit. The movie has been bankrolled by Venu Gopalakrishnan. Riyas Nijamudheen has handled the camera work for Exit, while Nishadh Yusuf is the editor. Dhanush Harikumar and Vimajith have composed the soundtrack and original score for this film. The art director is M Koyaz.
