Drishyam 2 has finally hit the big screen and is creating a storm at the box office. In the movie directed by Abhishek Pathak, Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta play the same roles they did in the first movie. Akshaye Khanna is the only new addition to the cast. Drishyam 2 is the official Hindi version of the Malayalam movie with the same name that came out in 2021. The director, Jeethu Joseph, confirmed the franchise's third and final instalment shortly after the film's release on Amazon Prime Video.
Now, during an exclusive interview with OTTPlay, Pathak was quizzed about the same. The director said that they are likely to shoot at the same time as the Malayalam version. The director told us, "At the moment, we are done with Drishyam 2 and will take a break. We'll figure out how to take it further once it's there."
He further shared, "We are discussing. What are they thinking? What are we thinking? We're going to collaborate and do something together this time. Because the current trend of them coming first and us following will not work in the future. It might start shooting together; we have to figure those things out."
Pathak concluded by saying, "But let's see, it's a very far-fetched plan right now. We have Mohanlal Sir and Ajay Sir, so a lot of things need to be combined together."
Drishyam 2 was released on the big screen seven years after the first instalment. The 2015 release was helmed by Nishikant Kamat, who met an untimely demise in 2020. Thus, Pathak, who had earlier co-produced Drishyam, took the charge of directing the sequel.
The movie came out on November 18, 2022, and both critics and regular people have been giving it great reviews. The film has made Rs. 36 crores in two days since its release.
