Manav Vij plays a special task officer in the recently-released web series, Tanaav. The actor revealed to us that he had some fanboy moments with the veteran actor M K Raina, who plays a pivotal part in the show.
The story of Tanaav revolves around the constant chase between a Kashmiri separatist, Umar Riyaz, and the special task force who are on a mission to track him down and kill him.
M K Raina plays a Kashmiri man in the show, who supports Umar, while Manav plays officer Kabir Farooqi, who is on a mission to kill Umar.
Sharing his experience of working with M K Raina, Manav told OTTplay, "A very special thing about Raina sir is that he is a child at heart. Being a veteran actor and a huge theatre personality, anyone can learn a lot from him just by observing his performance and the way he prepares before a scene. I was like a fanboy of Raina sir on the set."
In the show, Manav had to do some action scenes with M K Raina, and the actor initially hesitated to push the veteran actor and drag him across the floor as part of the scene. "I am not giving away any spoilers, but there is a scene in which I have to abduct Raina sir, which is followed by an action sequence. After the shot, I touched Raina sir's feet and said, 'Maaf kardo sir, meine aapko dhakka maara'. He was so cute, and replied, 'Aarey bhai, tum nahi, woh toh tumhara character tha...anything for a good scene.' That is why I and everyone in our unit love Raina sir," shared Manav.
M K Raina is a prominent name of Indian theatre, who has directed many popular Hindi and other language plays, including Bhanbhatt Ki Atmakatha, Godan, Muavze, Tum Saadat Hasan Manto Ho, Badshah Pather and Stay Yet A While.
