Indranil Roychowdhury’s debut web series Chhotolok was dropped on Zee5 almost a week ago. The murder mystery has so far been appreciated by critics and viewers alike. While the lead actress Daminee Benny Basu’s performance as SI Sabitri Mondol won hearts, other performers, Ushasi Ray and Ushasie Chakraborty are also appreciated.

Ushasie, who got back on television serials years after her famous character June Auntry, is on cloud nine. Her performance as CA Kasturi Basu in Chhotolok has been appreciated by the audience. While Kastoori does not have a long screen time, her encounter with SI Sabitri Mondol is being talked about. Talking about her character, Ushasie said, “I don’t judge a character based on its length. Mine is an important character and I worked diligently on that. My scene with Daminee is being talked about and that’s exciting. When Kobi (Indranil) offered me this character, I liked it immediately,” she said.

Ushasie also admitted that working with Daminee and Indranil was a pleasure. “Daminee is my teacher. Being able to work with her is an honour. In fact, Kobi is also some sort of a mentor to me. When we were shooting, I joked that mine is one of the very few characters that can make a comeback in the second season. And after Karturi’s encounter with Sabitri Mondol, it is sure that my character would send her to Sunderban as a punishment posting,” she said.

After playing June Aunty, Ushasie is now back on TV. “In Tumpa Autowali on Colors, I play a negative character. Besides, I am back on Star Jalsha in Tomader Rani. While it is like a homecoming to be back on the channel, I play a positive character. This is going to be fun,” she said.
