Exclusive update on Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, and Parasuram starrer: Second lead revealed

Vijay Deverakonda is currently going through a tough phase as he struggles to regain his box-office success. It's been quite some time since he tasted a proper hit as his last film Liger turned out to be a mega-disaster at the box office, leaving director Puri Jagan in a financial crisis. Adding to his woes, another film in the pipeline, Khushi, faced delays due to Samantha's illness, leading to a six-month postponement of the shoot.

However, there is finally some good news as his new film with Parasuram will go on the floors soon. Well, we have come to know exclusively that noted actress Divyanka Kaushik has been roped in as the second heroine in the film. Very soon, the producers will make an official announcement about the same. 

Mrunal Thakur, the star heroine is playing the lead actress in this film and she has been paired opposite Vijay for the first time in her career. Going back in time, Parasuram had previously delivered the biggest hit of Vijay's career with Geetha Govindam, and now they are collaborating once again. 

The above said film will have a US backdrop, and a significant portion of the shoot is planned to take place in the United States.  In addition to this project, Vijay is also busy with story sittings for his upcoming film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. This film is a cop drama and Vijay will be seen portraying a police officer on screen.

Dil Raju is producing this film and post the debacle of Liger, Vijay wants to do mostly romantic comedies as fans love him in the romantic genre more than anything else. The film will be wrapped up by the end of this year and the news is also that Dil Raju is making plans to release this film as a Sankranthi 2024 special in January. The pre-production is almost done and very soon the film will go on the floors.
