Exclusive! THIS is why Angad Bedi wants to work with R Balki more often

Actor Angad Bedi is receiving a lot of appreciation for his pairing with Saiyami Kher in the upcoming film Ghoomer, whose first-look was released very recently. With this project, Angad is reuniting with the filmmaker R Balki after Lust Stories 2, which was released recently on Netflix.

In a special conversation with OTTplay, the actor gave a lot of credit to every director and producer he has worked with so far, since he began his acting career in 2011.

Talking about why it is important for him to collaborate with the right filmmakers and the fact that R Balki is surely one of them, Angad tells OTTplay, "I think how as an actor I am performing has a lot to do with the kind of filmmakers I have associated myself with. I am lucky to work with Balki sir not once but twice and slowly I am shifting my gear from intense performances to romance. When we work with brilliant directors, they really know how to treat a character, even those subtle ones that do not necessarily have the best lines."

Citing an example on the same, the actor elaborates, "You see, in our anthology Made For Each Other, Neena ji's character was the author-backed one, she had all the best lines and it was meant for the gallery. Mine and Mrunal's character in the film was otherwise very subtle, there are silences, yet all the emotions between the two characters were established beautifully. When we go to see a girl in an arranged marriage set up, the man always has a sense of hesitation, about how much to talk, what to say, where to draw the line, and yet allowing the girl to know him. Those little things were shown with nuances because that was the brilliance of Balki sir. When we work with a great filmmaker, be it Shoojit da (Shoojit Sircar, Pink), Ali Abbas Zafar, Shaad Ali, Sharan Sharma and Karan Anshuman - they really know how to treat every character so that the actor gets the room to prove his mettle."

The story of the film Ghoomer revolves around a para-athlete, a cricket prodigy. Saiyami Kher, the lead actress reveals that even though she is a sportsperson and plays sports extensively, it was quite a different part for her to play.

Angad Bedi and Saiyami Kher are joined by Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Nasir Khan, among others, in the principal cast of Ghoomer. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
