Gobhir Joler Mach was dropped last year with Swastika Dutta, Ushasi Ray, Trina Saha and Ananya Sen. Rajdeep Gupta, Shoumo Banerjee, Prantik Banerjee, and Judhajit Sarkar play their husbands in the show. The series that delves into the complex interpersonal relationships between the four girlfriends – Aratrika (Swastika), Bishakha (Ushasi), Diti (Trina), and Chandrima (Ananya) – became popular among viewers.
In the first season, Chandrima dies of a suspected murder. As the investigation starts, everyone, including the friends and their husbands, becomes a suspect. The first season does not solve the crime. A few months after the show was dropped, Trina Saha left the team. The second season was announced at last year’s Hoichoi slate announcement.
The shooting of the second season started earlier this month – on March 8. According to sources, television actress Titiksha Das enters the show as Brinda. While Trina gives the show a miss, her character Diti dies in the season. Meanwhile, Ananya and Arpan Ghoshal (who also dies in the first season) have a significant role in the second season. According to multiple sources close to the team, this season presents men’s perspective. “The first season was largely about Aratrika, Bishakha, Diti and Chandrima’s story. This season presents’ Anirban (Rajdeep), Dhrubo (Shoumo), Sumit (Prantik) and Tirtha’s (Judhajit) point of view. The story develops from their perspective. Brinda is a new character in the show,” one of the sources said.
The shooting of the second season ended on March 22. Rajdeep and Judhajit took to their social media to announce the wrap. Aditi Roy’s Lojja was the last show dropped on Hoichoi. The shooting of Joydeep Mukherjee’s Advocate Achinta Aich is also over. Srijit Mukherji will be back with the second season of Feludar Goyendagiri which will be based on Satyajit Ray’s Bhuswargo Bhoyonkor.
