By her admission, Swastika Mukherjee believes that everything has its perfect timing and a starting point. Once that point comes, there is no looking back. Swastika experienced such timing in her life – be it in her Bollywood breakthrough or projects in Bangladesh. As she gears up to start shooting Kamrul Islam Refat’s One Eleven, the actress talked to OTTplay about her new journey.
“In 2008, I worked in a Bangladeshi film (Sabar Opore Tumi opposite Shakib Khan). It was a commercial film. This time, the flavour is completely different. The director of One Eleven, Kamrul Islam Refat, contacted me in 2021. Ever since he sent me multiple drafts of the script as they kept working on it. They probably had 11 drafts. Finally, we will start shooting in November,” she said.
Swastika further added that she has been a fan of Bangladeshi content. “I always wanted to work with them. But I feel there is a right moment for things to click. Once it does click, there is no looking back. This happened to me in Bollywood also. Once I started working there, things kept happening,” said the actress.
By her admission, Swastika is a fan of Bangladeshi OTT platform Chorki. “I am an avid consumer of Chorki content. I shamelessly asked them for work,” she joked.
The shooting of One Eleven will begin in November. In the film, Swastika pairs up with veteran Bangladeshi actor, Afzal Hossain. “I have a large number of people to meet. There are designers who I follow. I will catch up with them, I am a fan of Bangladeshi food and I am going to gorge on them. Besides, the film unit kept on telling me that I would be their guest. I am already feeling excited about it,” said Swastika.
