Exclusive! Shehzada star Kriti Sanon on being tagged as the ‘next big thing’ in the industry: They come and go

Kriti Sanon is preparing for her forthcoming film Shehzada. The films in her pipeline for this year highlight her preference for riding the delicate line between high-content and high-entertainment flicks.  

Kriti was asked in an exclusive interview with OTTplay how she feels about being called "the next big thing," she said, "As much as they really make me feel amazing, it also indicates that I am going in the right direction. And the validation is something that we all crave for. But, I also don't take it very seriously, because I feel that these tags come and go. There are fluctuations with your hates and flaws, I just want to keep doing good work. I just want to make sure that I keep entertaining my fans. I want to keep evolving and don't wanna get stagnant and never want to get satisfied with what I am doing. This also comes from the opportunities that I get. I am still triving and striving to do more and get better."

She also shared how she adapts to different characters and parts. The actress added the following: "I consistently had small-town roles up till Bareilly Ki Barfi. So I did the Panipat war drama. I then progressed to the next level by acquiring a significant and substantial role in Mimi.  I want to constantly change the gear and not stay in one place. In order to avoid stagnation, you must move forward and consider what comes next."

With Shehzada, Adipurush, Ganapath and The Crew, the actress, who is at the height of her game, intends to surprise fans in 2023 with some interesting projects that highlight various facets of her persona and talent.
