In a career spanning 20 years, Shahid Kapoor is enjoying one of the best phases, having tasted success in theatrical releases as well as on OTT with projects like Farzi. Now that the actor is experimenting beyond the image of a lover boy that he played in several films in the past, he will be seen as an action hero in Bloody Daddy. Ahead of its release, the superstar decodes the power of his hard-earned success and why he is scared of it.

When asked what luxuries of success he enjoys the most, Shahid said, "Success has given me the power to make better choices —the choices that I really believe in. Otherwise, we have to do anything that comes our way to survive. But I also want to say that the one thing about success that is not that great is that it makes you feel very comfortable."

He went on to explain, "I think growth happens mostly in discomfort. If I am comfortable doing something, why should I change? But for my artistic growth, discomfort should also be there. At times, I fear that this luxury, comfort, success, and everything else that I have today will take away my street-survival instinct. I think I am who I am because I had that instinct in me when I started out. I had that attitude that I was going to make it and that I wouldn't give up, survive, or struggle until I achieved my dream. As a youngster, I had aggression and a bullish belief because when no one believes in you, you have to believe in yourself. But the vulnerability of an artist is still there in me."

Starting his career as a professional dancer and working his way up as a backup dancer in films like Dil To Pagal Hai and Taal, Shahid made his debut as an actor with Ishq Vishk and went on to become one of the much-loved actors for his acting and dancing skills in films like Jab We Met, Kaminey, Haider, Udta Punjab, and Kabir Singh.

The actor made his web debut with the series Farzi, directed by The Family Man famed director duo Raj and DK. It received huge appreciation from critics and audiences alike.

Now, Shahid is all set to surprise his audience with the action film Bloody Daddy, an Indian adaptation of the French film Sleepless Night. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who is known for successful commercial potboilers like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. His Netflix film, Jogi, starring Diljit Dosanjh, was also well received.

Bloddy Daddy, also starring Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Diana Panty, will be available to stream on JioCinema starting June 9.
