Filmmaker Kiranraj K is on cloud nine at the moment. The much-awaited trailer of his debut film '777 Charlie' came out earlier today and has received unanimous praise from all corners. Be it the digital audience or the film fraternity, '777 Charlie' trailer has become quite the talk of the town and is currently trending on social media.
"It's a rather overwhelming feeling right now," says Kiranraj K as he slowly gathers himself following the recent launch event that saw the entire team be moved by the tremendous response to the trailer. "The whole idea behind cutting this trailer for to allow the viewer a proper peek into the world of Charlie. My team and I wanted the trailer to be a small film in itself, one that carries the emotional pulse that the entire film does, and going by the reactions that we have got, I can't help but be super emotional at this moment. All the reactions at the trailer launch event came from a deep place because I could sense that everyone present there could connect to the soul of '777 Charlie'," adds Kiranraj.
That said, one can assume that cutting the trailer for a film of this kind couldn't have been easy. Regardless of its plotline or the narrative, the film carries the intense emotional energy of Dharma and Charlie's journey, and Kiranraj and his editors spent a lot of time nailing the final cut of the trailer.
"As the director of the film, I had a sense of what the trailer would look like but it took a lot of effort on our editors' part. I spoke to Pratheek Shetty, the editor of the film, who rendered a rough cut of the initial idea but we knew there was enough scope to fine-tune it further. Rakshit Kaup, our online editor, then tried his hand at the cut and what he presented was really impressive. Merging the two sensibilities, Pratheek then brought a much crisper version of the idea that we eventually presented to Rakshit Shetty. Rakshit loved what we had done and since he has a passionate eye for detail, there were a couple of effective changes that we employed for the final version of the trailer. Indeed, we put in a lot of effort," shares Kiranraj.
'777 Charlie', the film, will release in theatres on June 10 across five different languages. The film is currently associated with many major names in the distribution space for all the different dubbed versions and with the trailer receiving such high praise, one can assume the entire team to feel galvanized.
