After playing Kangana Ranaut's mentor in Dhaakad, the actor will work with Deepika, Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan in Nag Ashwin’s Project K.

Saswata Chatterjee has his hands full with several upcoming Bengali and national projects. After the mega release of Arindam Sil’s Tirandaj Shabor this Friday, the actor gearing up to work with director Nag Ashwin on Project K. The film also features Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in the lead. As per reports, Saswata has been cast as a key character in the film and has already shot his portions with Deepika in Hyderabad.
Recently, the actor he shared the screen space with Kangana Ranaut and Arjun Rampal in the action thriller Dhaakad, which unfortunately failed to make a mark at the box office. “She is extremely professional. She is always well versed with the dialogues and script. When she is not convinced, she would ask 500 questions to the director before giving the shot,” the actor told OTTplay.
Remembering his initial encounter with Kangana, he said, “While shooting in Budapest, one day the entire team went to watch a film in a theatre. It was Kangana’s idea. When I met her, she said, ‘I missed going to a cinema hall for two years. I wanted to go to the theatres just to experience it once again’. The entire team then went to watch Black Widow."
In a recent interview with ETimes, Saswata was also praises for Deepika's professionalism. He said that Deepika patiently waited for hours before shooting. When Saswata told her that his daughter is a fan, Deepika sent a signed photograph as a gift to her. Project K – a sci-fi thriller – also features Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani.
While elaborating on his experience in working on national projects, the actor exclusively told OTTplay, “They have a huge support system. They pamper artists. If I need one bottle of water, they will bring five bottles. They pay a lot more respect to creative people. In Tollywood, there are limitations. We work on a shoestring budget. Only a dedicated and talented artiste can survive here.”
Dhaakad, directed by Razneesh Ghai, is now in cinemas.
