Actress Saiyami Kher, who plays the female protagonist in the upcoming web series Faadu — A Love Story, says that she believes in collective growth as an artiste. She adds that is one of the beautiful qualities that her on-screen character Manjari has, and that's what makes the show all the more special for her.
The makers released a promotional teaser that shows that the leading man of the show, Abhay, played by Pavail Gulati, is from a slum, and talks about the joy of working his way up to a good lifestyle, looking back at how he started his journey from zero. Interestingly, his lover, Manjari, played by Saiyami asks what about those who lived with him, but were left behind and couldn't achieve what he did?
In the same context, Saiyami told OTTplay, "As an artiste, I genuinely believe that the best way to grow and shine is to do so together. For instance, when I read a script for a project, more than my character and how important it is as part of the narrative, I look at the overall story. You see, if the film or the show creates an impact overall in our minds, then we naturally talk about the actors who are part of the film or show. When you collaborate with good people, the whole project becomes an interesting ride. So, for artistes or anyone in any profession, the best growth is collective growth."
She further added, "I really respect how Manjari looks at life and growth. Abhay is a go-getter, while Manjari believes that no one should be left behind while striving for a better life."
Faadu - A Love story, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Indranil Chakraborty, also features Pavail Gulati, Deepak Sampat, Abhilash Thapliyal and Neeraj Kashyap, among others. It is set to stream on SonyLiv on December 9.
