Exclusive! Ritwick Chakraborty to play the lead in a lawyer franchise, Achinta Aich, on Hoichoi

After Gora, Ritwick Chakraborty is all set to begin yet another franchise. However, from being an eccentric detective in Sahana Dutta’s series, the actor has now stepped up as a lawyer, Achinta Aich. Hoichoi will present its Season 7 slate on Friday and the project – a courtroom drama – is expected to be announced there.

Talking to OTTplay, Ritwick Chakraborty said that he had the initial conversation. “I heard the story and the script is being written now. I heard some bits of the script as well. I know I will do the project,” said the actor. 

Billed as a courtroom drama, the show will be run by Joydeep Mukherjee. Earlier, Ambarish Bhattacharya was scheduled to play the character. The show will delve into the life of a simple lawyer – Achinta Aich – who only gets to handle small cases. He is an emotional person with integrity. The first season aims to show how he deals with an important case. Meanwhile, Hoichoi will also present another courtroom drama, Jaha Bolibo Shotyo Bolibo, with Mimi Chakraborty and Tota Roy Chowdhury in the lead. The shooting of this show has been completed.

Joydeep has just completed the shooting of Eken Babu season seven. Ritwick worked with Joydeep in a film recently. The shooting took place in the UK. Ishaa Saha and Anirban Chakrabarti are also part of that film. “Working with Joydeepda is very comfortable. He is technically sound and hence, despite the rush, the shooting gets done quickly,” Ritwick said.  

The shooting of Achita Aich may start by the end of November. The look set has started. The other cast and crew members are yet to be decided.
