Exclusive! Rana Naidu actor Priya Banerjee: Working with Rana Daggubati was quite special

Actress Priya Banerjee who was last seen in the Hindi web series Jamai 2.0 is all set to come back to the OTT space with the massive web show titled Rana Naidu starring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati - opens up and shares her experience of working with the Telugu superstars.

Priya told OTTplay, "I knew Rana for quite some time now, we always stayed in touch since I came back to India from Canada. I did a Telugu series in the south along with Naveen Kasturia, it's called Social. Rana had a special appearance there in the show and since then we started interacting properly. So even before we started shooting for the show, we already had a comfort level. Eventually, when we started working, it was easy and a lot of fun."

Asked about how different the superstar is, off camera, the actress mentioned that Rana is almost the same person on and off the camera with a calm and composed personality.

Priya said, " I think he is almost the same person as a friend or as a co-star...he is a hardworking, calm composed and very no-nonsense person. Rana is one of those very well-prepared actors on set, who knows his job so well."

Since Rana comes from an illustrious film family in the Telugu film industry as his father is an iconic superstar and his grandfather D Suresh Babu is a prominent film producer; Priya said that the actor who is also a film producer has a huge interest in the process of filmmaking.

Talking more about the Baahubali actor, Priya shared,"He is always trying new ventures and different processes of filmmaking. He is very involved in every stage of storytelling, so when you are sitting with him, he passionately talks about cinema its process, technology etc. Of course, he comes from a massive film family so I think it is also in his DNA!"

In the show, Venkatesh is playing the father of Rana and one can read from the trailer how the Telugu star also plays a pivotal part.

The actress said that she was so surprised to see him on set for the first time with his look.

"I have never seen Venkatesh sir with such a deadly look, full grey hair and such a massive intense character. I think no fans also have ever seen...I was shocked at the first glance but of course, when we were shooting every day, things got normalised but I can assure, that even fans will be surprised to watch Venkatesh sir in the new avatar," shared Priya.

The show Rana Naidu, which is a story that revolves around a father and his son, is created by Karan Anshuman and it is also starring Surveen Chawla, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra among others.

The web series releases on Netflix, on March 10.
