Rana Daggubati is coasting in his career, doing one biggie after the other, while balancing his solo lead assignments with his author-backed character roles in projects across various industries. His latest release Bheemla Nayak, where he's teamed up with Pawan Kalyan for the first time in his career, has struck gold at the box office. While he's awaiting the theatrical release of the long delayed Viraata Parvam next, he'll also be seen in the Netflix show Rana Naidu alongside his uncle, actor Venkatesh. He spoke about it in a media interaction recently.
"For someone who did films at a relaxed pace earlier, the last two years have been madness with multiple commitments. I realised that I am traditionally wired to work on content that is three-hours long but doing something that goes on for eight hours, like Netflix's Rana Naidu, is similar to accepting three feature-film assignments at once. It's taking everything out of me," he spoke of how shooting for a web show is quite hectic.
Rana further added, "I can't reveal much about Rana Naidu owing to a non-discoloure agreement, though I can promise it'll be madness whenever you get to see it. I and Venkatesh (garu) may have had different approaches to our careers till now and both of us will be exploring an entirely new zone with Rana Naidu. There's a lot of we're having while making it but we'll discuss it more during the time of the release."
Talking about what he has learnt from his uncle all these years, he said, "The most important thing I can learn from him is his detachment from films, stardom, being at peace and still enjoying whatever he does. I think it'll take a while for me to get there. I'm a work in progress." Rana Naidu, for the uninitiated, is a show created by Karan Anshuman and also stars Saurav Khurana and Abhishek Bhalerao.
