Actress Priya Banerjee, who will be seen in the web series Rana Naidu starring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, has revealed more about her character from the show.
Priya told OTTplay, "I play a Bollywood star named Mandira in the series, and Rana and I have a very unique on-screen relationship. I cannot elaborately talk about it because that might be giving away too much. But let me tell you this: the journey of the character is quite similar to that of many actors I have seen in the film industry. She started as a child actor, then faced hardships to make her space as an actor, and then somehow reached the top of the game. She is a talented, hardworking woman. There are many aspects of Mandira to which I can relate, but the way she handles certain situations does not sit well with me personally. Overall, it was interesting for me to play her."
Since the release of the much-awaited series is around the corner, what is Priya's frame of mind? Priya said, "I am excited, because we have been working on this project for the past two years. We also experienced a lockdown during the shoot. Of course, it is a huge show that fans of Rana and Venkatesh are eagerly awaiting. But on the day of the trailer launch, all of us were thrilled that the series turned out exactly the way we had imagined it. Usually, in such a huge show, as actors, we only focus on our individual tracks, but a lasting impact is created by the overall energy of the show. And I know that we will rock it!"
Rana Naidu is the Indian adaptation of the American series Ray Donovan, and is created by Karan Anshuman. The series also stars Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, and Surveen Chawla in lead roles. It releases on Netflix on March 10.
