The shooting of Pathikrit Basu’s Shastry was disrupted after veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty fell ill last week. The actor complained of discomfort and film producer Soham Chakraborty rushed him to a hospital at EM Bypass. After being diagnosed with an ischemic cerebral accident (stroke) of the brain, the actor was released from the hospital and now he is ready to be back on sets.
As per the Shastry team, the shooting will resume on February 19. The shoot will take place at a house near Bantala. Along with Mithun Chakraborty, Rajatava Dutta will also take part in the day. Director Pathikrit told OTTplay, “Yes, I had a word with Mithunda. He is fit to shoot. We will resume our work on February 19.”
Shastry delves into the conflict between astrology and science. The film brings back the hit pair of Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Ray. Besides, it also features Anirban Chakrabarti, Sauraseni Maitra, and others.

Mithun Chakraborty was last seen in the Bengali industry in Suman Ghosh’s Kabuliwala, which was released last year. Before that, his film Projapoti with Dev was a smash hit at the box office. The National Award-winning actor who started his journey with Mrinal Sen’s Mrigayaa with Mamata Shankar fell ill on February 10. After an investigation, the doctors concerned released a medical statement that confirmed that he suffered an ischemic cerebral accident (stroke) of the brain.
