Actor Zain Durrani, who will be seen playing the protagonist in the upcoming espionage web series titled Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy, has spoken about how his upcoming project shows some of the most interesting humane elements of the spy world through the narrative.
The story of the show is set in 1965 India-Pakistan war and it is an adaptation of a novel named Mission to Kashmir: An Intelligent Agent in Pakistan, by Maloy Dhar.
Zain plays a Kashmiri lad Harfan placed in Pakistan by the Indian intelligence to share information for the protection of the country from the neighbouring state that would eventually help him win the war. However, it is to see if Harfan achieves success on the mission or if things turn upside down.
The show has been penned by Arshad Sayyed and Vaibhav Modi.
Sharing more on his character, Zain told OTTplay, "I think one of the most interesting parts of this character is, he is an unlikely spy. There is no typical habit in his overall behaviour that would make you point out that he is a spy, when you see him in a crowd."
"The whole series speaks of the spy world in a very humane form and those humane elements are kept alive in Harman. He is hired to do a job in a situation when the security of a country was going through a turmoil. His behaviour is very un-spy-like. You know what I mean? He cannot be singled out as a spy. The story also shows how since his childhood he had a tough life to survive. But at the same time, he is charming, he is quick on his feet and now on a mission," Zain further added.
Zain is known for films like Shikara, Bell Bottom and Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz.
Directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai, Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy also stars Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra and Barkha Bisht. The series will be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5 on November 11.
