EXCLUSIVE | Mother's Day 2023: It's the unwavering support and words of encouragement of my mother, which has helped me reach where I am today, says Shalin Bhanot

The name of Shalin Bhanot needs absolutely no introduction. Even before his stint is the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ (season 16), he was pretty much a known name with hit shows under his belt. His stint in the Bigg Boss house was definitely memorable. His love affair notwithstanding, his stint in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house also mirrored the deep emotional bond and connect that this man has with his parents, esp. with his mother Sunita Bhanot, whom he considers his pillar of strength and also his backbone.

On the occasion of ‘Mother’s Day’, Shalin Bhanot spoke exclusively to OTTplay about what does the day mean to him. Says Shalin, "It's difficult to say one such lesson because there are many, but I think the most valuable and important lesson for which I will always be grateful and thankful to her is the art that she has inculcated in me. My artistic side has been a blessing that I have received from her.”

He added, “My mother pursued classical singing for 14 years when I was a small child, and she was also inclined towards dance in her college days. I believe I have been blessed with such good genetics being passed on by my mother, and this has helped me with my acting and my voice modulation in my own craft. My mother has been a pillar of strength, and I love her immensely for this, it was also the unwavering support and words of encouragement that helped me reach where I am today”.

For the unversed, Shalin Bhanot had entered the entertainment arena as a contestant with the extremely popular adventure reality show ‘MTV Roadies 2’ in the year 2004. Over the years, he has been a part of many shows like ‘Saat Phere’, ‘Dill Mill Gayye’, ‘Naaginn’, ‘Do Hanson Ka Jodaa’ and others. And during his stint inside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, Ekta Kapoor had offered him to play the lead in Colors TV's serial ‘Bekaboo’. Shalin’s performance in the show did garner a positive response from many.

A couple of months ago, during a media interaction at the ‘OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023’, Shalin Bhanot had said that, very soon he will be seen in a never-before role on a major OTT platform. The details of the same are being awaited.
