Aishwarya Lekshmi plays one of the three heroines in Mammootty’s thriller Christopher

Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekhmi ticked off a major goal in her bucket list when she got to be part of director B Unnikrishnan’s Christopher, which has Mammootty in the lead. The actress is one of three female leads in the movie, which also has Amala Paul and Sneha as part of the cast.
In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Aishwarya tells us about her role and why she decided to be part of the movie, which is touted to be a thriller that has Mammootty essaying the role of a vigilante cop.
“I play a small character in Christopher,” the Ponniyin Selvan actress says. “I did the movie just to work with Mammukka. I did Kumari for the entirety of the film and not just for the character. But in case of Christopher, it was just for the experience of acting alongside Mammukka.”
The movie, which also has Jinu Joseph, Shine Tom Chacko and Vinay Rai, has completed the shoot and is expected to be a January 2023 release. Incidentally, Aishwarya was offered another character in the film but chose to do this particular role because she got to share screen space with Mammootty.
Meanwhile, the actress is also part of Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha, which has wrapped up its first schedule and is set to begin its next in Tamil Nadu. This is the first time she is sharing screen space with Dulquer. The film, helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, is a gangster action-thriller that also has Chemban Vinod Jose playing the antagonist.
Aishwarya’s latest release Kumari, meanwhile, hit theatres on October 28. The horror-thriller, which is directed by Nirmal Sahadev, had her sharing screen space with Shine Tom, Rahul Madhav, Surabhi Lakshmi and Swasika Vijay. The film revolved around a young woman who comes to a cursed village that plays host to a demon gods. How she has to fend them off to protect herself and her child form the plot of the film.
