Her Instagram feed is filled with stories that are raw, real, and relatable — whether it is a glamorous photoshoot or posts that show her foodie side, her childhood pictures with her parents, or viral videos of her cold-water therapy in -15 degress. One thing is for sure: Rakul Preet Singh never disappoints her fans.

When we asked her about her social media presence and her relatable posts, the actress said that for her, it makes more sense to stay real on social media because, in films, she anyway plays fictional characters.

Asked if the onscreen image of an actor puts them into boxes and limits their acting opportunity, Rakul told OTTplay, "I think to an extent that is correct, but for me, it makes more sense to be real on social media. As an actor, I act throughout the day, so I need to show my humane side to my followers. I also work, and everything isn't perfect about my day. Imperfection is also beautiful. So, on social media, I aim to be as real and candid as possible."

After working extensively in South Indian films, Rakul starred in Hindi films with social messages delivered in an entertaining way, in films like Doctor G, Chhatriwali, and her latest murder-mystery thriller, I Love You.

Asked if her choice of films is a reflection of her personality, Rakul said, "Well, I am choosing films based on the kinds of scripts I get, but my endeavour is always to try and do different things that allow me to show off my versatility. At times, I feel connected with certain parts of certain characters. As an actor, I want to be part of films that I feel connected to and be different in each of them at the same time."

Rakul has three films in the pipeline: Meri Patni Ka Remake, Ayalaan, and Kamal Hassan's Indian 2.

I Love You, which also stars Pavail Gulati, is available to stream on JioCinema.
