Exclusive! Huma Qureshi: Double XL is for all the misfits out there, or who are told they are one

That Huma Qureshi's sense of humour is always on fleek, is no secret anymore. So, while answering OTTplay's question about whether her latest film Double XL was a cathartic journey for her and co-star Sonakshi Sinha, Huma joked about eating being the only thing she had 'prepped' for during the making of the movie. 

"What about me? Can you imagine being called a big girl my whole life? And here was a film where I had to put on weight (laughs!) I mean Sonakshi put on a lot of weight about 15 kilos, and I put on about 20 kilos and our prep for the film was ki khao!" Huma Qureshi told OTTplay.

Huma Qureshi's actor brother Saqib Saleem, who has turned producer for this movie along with Huma, chimed in to joke about her excessive eating during the making of the movie. 

"Matlab ek time aiesa aagaya tha guys ki main Huma ke saamne se khaana uthake leke jaa rahaan tha. I was like XXXL film banani padegi. Iss script main itna hi kha sakte ho aap. But I would like to say that both Huma and Sonakshi have taken the tasks seriously and worked so hard towards it," Saqib Saleem told us.

Soon after, Huma Qureshi took over from Saqib to explain why Double XL was a catharic journey for her, before giving a sweet shoutout to all the 'misfits out there'.

"... Every girl who's been told this and can identify with it, and that has been my only reason for doing this movie. Any girl, whatever size you may be or you think you may be, she should identify with my character. So, Double XL is for all the misfits out there or who have been told that they are misfits," Huma Qureshi told OTTplay.
