Exclusive! Gauahar Khan on censorship on OTT platforms: There has to be a board for 'quality control'

Gauahar Khan is one of the popular faces of Hindi cinema and OTT. She rose to fame with her dance number in the Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer Ishaqzaade. The gorgeous actress gained even more recognition after her stint on Bigg Boss 7.

She has recently been seen in Sony LIV's Salt City alongside Piyush Mishra and Divyendu among others. In a candid chat with OTTplay Gauahar talked about the show and her character as well as unveiled her thoughts on the censorship on OTT platforms. She also revealed about her upcoming shows and more. Excerpts. 

Talking about her character in the show, Gauahar mentioned that it's one of her favourite characters so far. "She is very real and relatable. She is not all goody-good. She has her own quirks. She is a family person and protective of her husband. But is all these she misses herself and she explores," she added.

Talking about the show, she said, "There are a lot of thriller and comedy shows on OTT, but a family drama is rare. Salt City is out and out the story of a family living in Mumbai and it explores the life of each of the family members. I think that's what sets it apart from other shows and make it worthy of a watch."

From the highly experienced actors like Piyush Mishra to the popular ones such as Divyendu and a few newcomers, Gauahar has got the chance to work with a different set of people in the show. When asked about her key takeaway from the show and her experience working with all the actors, the diva replied that she had a blast working for the show along with everyone. 

She further added, "I absolutely loved my time on set, especially with Navni Ji. She is a darling. She is such a famous face and mostly plays the motherly characters. But she is so young and so alive at heart. And Piyush Ji is just fun around everyone. Meanwhile, Divyendu, Eisha and all of us made a great family together."

Sharing her thoughts on the censorship on OTT platforms, the gorgeous actor mentioned, "I think there's a reason we have law and order in our lives. There are certain rules that everyone goes by. And the fact that there is no censorship on the OTT platforms right now gives the free way to put out anything and everything. There shouldn't be the unnecessary curbing of creativity but a few regulations never going to harm anybody. There has to be a board for a little quality control."

Moving further, Gauahar unveiled to OTTplay that she will soon be seen playing an action-packed role for the first time. "You'll see me in something big that's coming on OTT soon," she added.

Gauahar's kitty is packed with multiple contents in 2022. Talking about a few of them she revealed that she has finished filming for two feature films. Apart from that, the Ishaqzaade actor will be seen in an upcoming action series as well as a reality show.
